ARENSIA IS OPENING ITS FIRST RESEARCH CLINIC IN SOFIA, BULGARIA

We are happy to announce the opening of our first ARENSIA research clinic in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria!

Bulgaria is an EU and NATO member with a population of 7 Mio. Its tradition in clinical research goes back over 30 years. Sofia has a catchment area of more than 2 million people and is a European capital with a vivid economic, cultural and academic life. The city is directly connected to all major airport hubs of Europe, e.g., 2 hrs. flight distance from Frankfurt, 3 hrs. from London.

ARENSIA research clinic in Sofia occupies an area of over 500 sqm (5,400 sqft) and 14 in-patient beds with 24/7 surveillance as well as screening rooms, pharmacy for IMP handling and storage, sample preparation lab, sample storage facilities, staff meeting rooms, including a.o. dedicated space for monitors.

Similar to all ARENSIA Research Clinics, ARENSIA Bulgaria is dedicated to performing complex Phase I First-in-Patient / Phase II / Proof of Concept study designs with novel therapies & combinations involving patients across numerous therapeutic areas: oncology (both solid tumors and hema-oncology), immuno-inflammatory / rheumatology, dermatology, gastrointestinal, respiratory, neurology, cardiology, metabolic, infectious diseases, hepatology, nephrology, gynecology, urology, ophthalmology.

All systems at ARENSIA´s research clinic in Sofia follow ARENSIA central SOP system, e.g., using the same standard clinical pharmacology equipment (freezers, centrifuges, ECGs, BP monitors, etc.) as in the other ARENSIA locations.

ARENSIA team in Sofia (full-time medics, nurses, pharmacists, site coordinators, technicians, etc.) is composed of local staff with long-year experience in clinical research as well as experienced ARENSIA staff transferred from other ARENSIA clinics. Our Principal Investigators are highly skilled physicians covering all therapeutic areas mentioned above. The team is capable to handle the most complex protocol designs related to first-in-man / first-in-patient study designs.

Bulgaria has a competitive regulatory environment with 60 days approval timelines, following EU regulations for clinical trials.
